One square (100 sq ft) of three-tab asphalt shingles weighs about 200–250 lbs; architectural shingles can weigh 300–400 lbs per square.
Multiple layers
Each additional layer roughly doubles the debris weight.
Typical home
A 2,000 sq ft San Antonio home roof is often 25–30 squares, producing 3–4 tons of debris with one layer.
Choose the right box
